There is no option to put negative stars. One star implies you came out more than even, but I did not - it was only a loss, so I would put -4 stars if I could, because I'm down almost a thousand bucks and got *nothing* for it but additional problems. That's what I would put after being charged $789.68 for harnessed wires to be CUT and left bare, and my brand new expensive Mercedes battery to be replaced with an incorrect cheap one. 1. The bill vaguely states "Multiple wiring issues will require more in depth diagnostics". This is on a line item for $223.74. In the same line it says they traced and repaird wiring for the shifter which was "stopping ignition circuit for the starter". I opened it up to see what they did, and they had cut multiple wires inside my shifter and left spliced wires bare and hanging. 2. "Battery was completely dead on arrival". With mention of codes related to SAM module, they RPLACED THE BRAND NEW CORRECT BATTERY WITH with a battery from a different car - a small cheap incorrect battery. They talk about "multiple codes" without specifying what the codes were . This was $441.34 TO CUT WIRES - LEAVE BARE WIRES - AND REPLACE A BRAND NEW GOOD BATTERY WITH A CHEAP INCORRECT ONE Car was still not working "Please advise direction" 3. AC Evacuation and recharged - NOT REQUESTED - the request was to DIAGNOSE the AC. $117.17 They then said it was fixed but the invoice does not say that. I had someone pick up the car and the initial problems persists. I was out of the country. I just got back and replaced the wrong battery. Diagnosed it myself to get it to start. Had nothing to do with the shifter wires. COMPLETELY WRONG. I have not bothered to call them about this because time has now passed and there is no point. They didn't even put the right model number of the car on the invoice - meaning they didn't take it into account in their "diagnostics" and as well addressed none of my actual concerns and rather charged a fortune for "Diagnostics" which yielded no results. You should not be able to charge for "diangostics" if you do not actually diagnose the problem. This leaves clients at risk of the mechanics competency and makes no sense. Invoice number RO #12569
I must respond to your UNTRUE statements and blatantly false accusations. Your vehicle was towed to Complete Auto Repair in very poor condition, not running and having been worked on at another location. We initially recommended a local European repair shop that specialized in vehicles like yours but it was decided that you would like us to check your vehicle. We found multiple issues including a battery that could NOT be charged, multiple wiring problems including the starter system circuits, and wiring for the shifter assembly which had been "butchered" by a previous facility. All of those conditions were why the car did not run and needed to be addressed before any further diagnostics were performed. You agreed to have the battery replaced which we did with the exact battery called for by make and model and we began tracing the wiring nightmare that your car had when it arrived at our shop. Once the shifter wiring had been repaired we found a break in the circuit from the ignition switch to the starter which was caused by a prior facility and we corrected that as well. The car then started and was able to be driven around the block but had many failure codes registered in the engine computer that needed addressed. We contacted you to make you aware as well as recommend the previously mentioned European shop for you to have perform any additional service due to the extreme number of issues that you car needed. We checked your transmission fluid as requested and charged your a/c system which began cooling very well but showed it had a leak that would require additional repairs. You were contacted and advised that your car needed much more service and repair which you declined. We provided the services we included in your invoice and we clearly explained that your car would need additional repairs. We are confused because there was NO discussion of a problem at that time and this review is the 1st time we have heard from you since the vehicle was picked up from our shop. I truly hope you able to find a facility capable of providing the service your vehicle needs as I am confident that we will not be able to accommodate you again. We wish you well and hope it all works out for you.
